How We Spend Our Days
Our aim at Hōhepa Wellington is to actively support each person to live a full and happy life, whatever that means to them. We do this by encouraging participation in a wide range of educational, sporting, cultural and community activities that engage the soul, body and spirit.
The passing of time and the changing seasons are richly celebrated here at Hōhepa Wellington. The daily rituals and celebrations of the seasons through time honoured festivals give rhythm to the days, the months, and the years.
Daily Rhythms
Hōhepa Wellington provides opportunities to participate in a number of therapeutic activities and purposeful mahi onsite, which include supporting the work in our nursery and garden, eurythmy sessions, music therapy, and arts and crafts.
The days are also populated by outings in the community, including beach visits and walks in nature, ten pin bowling, shopping for groceries, swimming, the library, going to a cafe for morning tea, zumba classes …anything!
Festivals & Events
Seasonal and cultural celebrations are focal points of the community life at Hōhepa Wellington and are marked through festivities, the sharing of food, artistic activities, musical presentations and ceremonies.
In addition to Matariki, Diwali, Christmas, Easter, Waitangi and ANZAC celebrations, we also have our own seasonal Hōhepa Wellington festivals and events.
Our Hōhepa Wellington community, including family members and friends, are big supporters of these get togethers, which enrich the lives of everyone who lives and works here.
