Careers

Most of our staff work directly with the people in support to ensure their needs are met and to enable them to thrive. This includes learning new skills, having fun, connecting with the wider community, making friends, going on adventures, participating in hobbies and activities, and living with has much independence as possible.

Our support workers also model and provide support for daily life skills like meal preparation, personal care, medication within our homes. Hours of work are rostered, and may include overnights.

We are always keen to hear from people who want to be part of an amazing community of support.

Our ideal candidates are people who are open-minded and empathic, with hobbies, interests, and skills that they will enjoy sharing with others. It could be drama, music, art, dance, crafts, the environment, horticulture, sports, or something completely different.

For many of our roles the most important things are your attitude and approach to work (a good sense of humour is great too!).  If you have qualifications or experience, they are appreciated but we provide on the job and formal training.

Hōhepa Wellington is committed to workforce development and achieving a healthy and safe work environment through good communication and support. Every life fully lived applies just as much to our staff as to the people we support.

To be considered for paid employment at Hōhepa Wellington, you must be available to interview at our Hōhepa Wellington site on the Kāpiti Coast and be eligible to work in New Zealand. Expressions of interest can be emailed to our HR Administrator .
